HOW YOU CAN HELP !!!

Click on the link below to donate online to the Trolley Car #93 project funds. On the "Gift Designation: Fund name, organization or cause to direct your gift" line, please specify Jamestown Street Railway Trolley Car #93 Restoration Project for donations to the perpetual endowment fund or "Trolley #93 Fund" if the money is to go to help with our current restoration needs or leave it up to us to put it into the fund where it is most needed.

After getting close to having our restoration project visually complete, it was a setback when we lost what we thought would be our permanent home at the Gateway Train Station, now National Comedy Center. With a steadily growing endowment fund for maintaining the trolley into the future, and an adequate working capital fund for paying insurance and acquiring materials and parts, we are now faced with the more challenging expense of creating our own permanent display building for #93. We have been communicating with the Fenton History Center regarding the possibility of building on their property, and hoping that we can still garner the support from our project contributors to help us protect and carry the trolley into the future.

The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and the Jamestown Street Railway Trolley Car #93 Restoration Fund.

Randy Sweeney, June Diethrick and Jacob Schrantz with the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation have been very helpful in the creation our funding options with the foundation. We hope the endowment fund will grow to a level where it will be able to provide for future contingencies regarding the preservation of the trolley. Of more current importance is the non-endowment fund also set up with the CRCF. It provides a place for donations to be used for immediate needs for the trolley restoration. Now with restoration actually taking place, we have an urgent need for funds for the purchase of material and supplies. Fortunatey Jamestown Boiler is donating the metal and Fancher Chair, the wood, but costs for other items can add up. Both funds are designed to allow anyone to make a contribution to the trolley restoration project (and it can be used as a tax deduction if you are in a position to do so...). PLEASE CLICK on the link below to go to the MAIL IN DONATION FORM.

Please feel free to call me, Bob Johnston, if you are in a position to strengthen the effort in any way. Very much interested in any family history or photographs related to the local trolley lines, and it should go without saying, very much interested in any parts, documents, memorabilia, etc. My phone number is 716-664-9025.

Or email me at: park2@netsync.net
