The fund is secure, but we must continue to add to it. The primary purpose of the endowment fund is to make sure that the trolley can be sustained through time.
One of the biggest problems with projects like this is that public interest comes and goes in cycles.
Hopefully the fund will become strong enough to get #93 through the lows to guarantee its future...
For accounting purposes, we had hoped to keep the building fund separate from restoration expenses and other trolley expenses (liability/equipment insurance is a big one of these).
The foundation advised that this would ot be possible, so just know that the Building Fund may take a hit from time to time for non-building expenses.
