2025 ANOTHER YEAR OLDER...
  • Well, we had another Chautauqua Region Vintage Book, Paper and Collectibles Show and Sale that benefits the trolley restoration project. The 2025 show is over now and resulted in a total of around $3,700 going into the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Trolley Fund. $500 of that came from a 2024 attendee who sat down and wrote out a check for $500 to the project! THANK YOU! The Chautauqua Suites, Mayville New York venue is already reserved for the upcoming Saturday August 1, 2026 Show. Always looking for more participants so call me, Bob Johnston, at 716-338-5051 if you think you might be interested.

  • FINALLY, some movement on the building / architect front. Thanks to friends and family connections the needing an architect piece may be moving forward. One part of that is still potentially difficult to work through and involves the Fenton History Center. They are the trolley project's fiscal sponsor as well as owner / proprietor of #93's proposed final display building location. They have new building plans that will accomdate their own storage and display issues.

  • Fenton plans would include space for #93. Kinda haults the "trolley display building only idea" to an indeterminate point in time based upon their ability to get something going. Hoping that the current communication lines will create some type of mutually benefitial outcome for all the players. We shall see.

  • The idea of a trolley only building still needs attention. One can imagine the delay caused by Fenton's ambitious plan for an all in one building especially with the Fenton Mansion building needing painting and a new roof. I have, since my previous 2020 entry on the issue, come up with a less ambitious but still appropriate design for a trolley only building. Hoping to work through things and get a definite plan forward soon.

  • All this being said, a kinda bigger issue is coming up very soon. 2026 is the 100th year anniversary of Jamestown Street Railway Trolley Car #93 being put in service back in 1926. I have plans to try to take advantage of this and hopefully I can make them happen very soon. My success will bear out if the next page on this site is for "THE 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION"
