2025 ANOTHER YEAR OLDER...
Well, we had another Chautauqua Region Vintage Book, Paper and Collectibles Show and Sale that benefits the trolley restoration project. The 2025 show is over now and resulted in a total of around $3,700 going into the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Trolley Fund. $500 of that came from a 2024 attendee who sat down and wrote out a check for $500 to the project! THANK YOU! The Chautauqua Suites, Mayville New York venue is already reserved for the upcoming Saturday August 1, 2026 Show. Always looking for more participants so call me, Bob Johnston, at 716-338-5051 if you think you might be interested.
FINALLY, some movement on the building / architect front. Thanks to friends and family connections the needing an architect piece may be moving forward. One part of that is still potentially difficult to work through and involves the Fenton History Center. They are the trolley project's fiscal sponsor as well as owner / proprietor of #93's proposed final display building location. They have new building plans that will accomdate their own storage and display issues and a home for the trolley.
If this all works out, it will be great. Fenton is very confident that this will happen to the point that I feel comfortable with letting them take on the trolley building responsiblity.
The idea of a trolley only building is on the back burner for now, but I am continuing to make efforts to add to the fund just in case things don't happen the way they are planned. Certainly whichever way things go the donations to the trolley fund will go to #93's upkeep and preservation.
GO TO NEXT.
GO BACK TO MAIN.
